Home Office Confirms Key UK Immigration Dates for 2024
The UK government has officially announced the dates for a series of significant changes to its immigration policies, set to take effect in 2024. These changes are crucial for individuals and businesses to understand, as they could have far-reaching implications on various visa categories and immigration processes.
11 March 2024: New Rules for Care Workers and Providers
Starting 11th March, care workers will face additional restrictions; their family members will no longer be able to accompany them to the UK.
Additionally, care providers must register with the Care Quality Commissions (CQC) to sponsor employees under the Health and Care visa.
14 March 2024: Shortage Occupation List Update
Effective 14th March, the 20% salary discount currently applicable to occupations listed on the Shortage Occupation List will be removed.
4 April 2024: Skilled Worker Minimum Salary Increase
A significant change is set for 4th April, with the minimum salary for Skilled Worker visa applicants rising from £26,200 to £38,700 for new applications.
11 April 2024: Family Visa Income Requirement Increase
Lastly, on 11th April, the minimum income requirement threshold for family visas will increase, starting at £29,000 from the current requirement of £18,600. This change will impact British citizens and those settled in the UK looking to bring family members to the UK.
