The application process for the Youth Mobility Visa can seem daunting, but with Immtell, you’re not alone. We can guide you through the process, ensuring you meet all the criteria and your application is completed correctly and efficiently.

Understanding the Essentials: Youth Work Visa UK Requirements

Embarking to secure a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa involves satisfying specific criteria. To provide you with a clearer perspective, we’ve outlined the essential requirements you must meet for the Youth Mobility Visa UK visa. This is a partial list, as additional conditions may apply depending on your circumstances. However, it’s a good starting point and offers an overview of what to expect. Here’s what you need to know:

You are a national of one of the following countries: Andorra, Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, New Zealand, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan or Uruguay. Also permitted for those designated as British Overseas Citizens, British Overseas Territories citizens and British Nationals (Overseas)
You are between 18 and 30 years old (35 if you are from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or South Korea).
You do not have any children residing with you, nor are you financially responsible for any.
You have not held a visa in this category nor the previous ‘working holidaymaker’ category.
You have held savings of £2,530 for at least 28 days before the application.

FAQs

Working holiday visas for the UK are valid for 2 years.

It is not permitted to extend beyond a total 2 years in the UK with this visa type, as was the case with the working holiday maker visa previously. This is unless you are from New Zealand, where you may extend by a further 12 months – the same will apply if you are from Australia after 31 January 2024.

Unfortunately it is not possible to switch into the Youth Mobility visa from within the UK.

Unfortunately, the UK Youth Mobility Scheme visa does not lead to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK.  Following the maximum time permitted in the UK, you will usually be required to leave the country and you can apply for a further UK working holiday visa.

Due to restrictions of the Youth Mobility visa, dependants are not permitted accompany the ‘main applicant’ to the UK. They must instead apply for a visa in a qualifying category.

Initial visa applications of this work type must be made from abroad, either from your country of nationality or legal residence. It is not permitted to switch into the Youth Mobility visa from within the UK.

UKVI aim to process visas as follows:

Visa applications submitted outside of the UK:

  • Standard processing: 15 working days
  • Priority Service processing: 5 working days

Important: UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) do not guarantee processing times and delays do occur. We advise that you do not book any non refundable travel until your visa has been approved and your work visa is in your possession.  Priority services can be suspended without notice and may not be available at the time of application.

The UKVI application fee is £298.  In addition, you will need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS), which is £776 per year for the visa duration.

Our professional fee will depend on the level of service you require.
