Supporting documents for a UK short term study Visa should include invitation visa letters from the accredited education establishment in the UK and confirmation of any applicable sponsorship, i.e. company or parental.Â
As a short term study visa applicant, you must be able to demonstrate that you have a genuine reason for visiting and studying in the UK, can maintain and accommodate yourself during your studies and have sufficient ties to your home country to show the authorities that you have an intention to leave the UK. Although you may be sponsored by a third party, the Entry Clearance Officers (ECOs) will consider your own personal circumstances too.
The UK short term study visa is usually valid for either 6 or 11 months depending on the type of course to be undertaken in the UK. It is usually valid for multiple entries.
UK study visas with durations of 11 months are reserved for some English language courses only.
It is not possible to add dependant family members to a UK short term study application.  However, they may submit their own application for a visitor visa for stays of up to 6 months, which will usually be processed at the same time as the ‘main applicant’. Given the intended purpose of this type of visas, attention should be given to explain why family members also intend to travel to the UK.
All UK short term study visas must be made from outside of the UK.
It is not possible to switch into a Short-term study visa from within the UK.
UKVI aim to process visas applications as follows:

- Priority Service processing: 5 working days

Important: UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) do not guarantee processing times and delays do occur. We advise that you do not book any non refundable travel until your visa has been approved and your work visa is in your possession. Priority services can be suspended without notice and may not be available at the time of application.
The UKVI application fee for a Short-Term study visa is £200. In addition, you will usually need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) which is £470.
